Cave Spring Trail climbs onto the east slope of the Black Mountains of Mount Nutt Wilderness . The 0.8-mile (one way) trail ends at Cave Spring. The route is steep in places. Cave Spring, as its name implies, is located within a natural cave that provides water for wildlife and wild burros that inhabit the area.
