Dwight D. Eisenhower National Fish Hatchery

The Dwight D. Eisenhower National Fish Hatchery opened in 1909, where much of the fish-rearing practices in place today were developed. The hatchery raised a number of trout and char species such as California golden trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout, lake trout, Arctic char, and Arctic grayling. Today, the hatchery raises Atlantic salmon, lake trout, and brook trout for recreational fishing in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire.
