The first 3/4 mile of this trail is steep but levels off to a gradual climb when you reach the creek. The crossing can be treacherous, especially in high water conditions of June and early July. After the creek crossing the trail follows the creek through willows, meadows and patches of conifer. The views from the pass are spectacular.
