Construction of Tishomingo National Fish Hatchery (NFH) began in 1928, and was in full production by 1931. This 235-acre hatchery lies adjacent to Pennington Creek in south central Oklahoma. Its basic mission is to produce imperiled fish and other aquatic species in addition to recreational fish species. The species reared at the hatchery are distributed to waters of the south-central United States.
