Erwin National Fish Hatchery

Erwin National Fish Hatchery was established in 1894 and produces viable, disease-free, trout eggs, from three strains of rainbow trout and one Brook Trout strain. These eggs are shipped to 26 State, Federal and Tribal hatcheries in 19 states, from New Mexico to Maine. This hatchery is an essential part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Broodstock Program and its goal to support recreational fishing across the country.
