The steep, forested ridges and valleys of the 62,455 acre Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness are located 55 miles southeast of Portland and about 15 miles southeast of Sandy. While a few peaks such as Old Baldy, Salmon Butte and Huckleberry Mountain provide panoramic vistas, more typical of this area is the dense forest.
