The Piburn Trail #880 begins at Forest Service Road #814.1G and ends at an intersection with the Curecanti Trail #870. It is a lightly used trail that begins as an old 4-wheel drive road. It is access to an irrigation ditch and then turns into a regular trail. In the first 5 miles there are a series of casual rises and falls in terrain running through mostly aspen forests with some spruce and fir trees.
