The Crag to Cobbett Trail #749 was built to serve as a connecting rouute between Cobbett Lake Campground and Crag Crest Trail #711 which is a National Recreation Trail. From its junction with the Crag Crest Trail, it is just a short distance to the west parking area and then across Hwy 65 to Grand Mesa Lodge.
