Owl Creek Mounds Archeological Site

Owl Creek Mounds Archeological site was established in 1964. It contains Indian Mounds dating to the early Mississippian period (A.D. 1000 to 1200). This area is on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally there were five mounds around a central plaza, two mounds are located on National Forest Land. Owl Creek Mounds Site is open year-round unless weather conditions require the area to be closed. No user fees required. Site Brochure
