The 120-acre Junction Butte Wetland is designated as a Watchable Wildlife Area, providing excellent birding opportunities. Thea rea is seasonally flooded to maintain the wetland and provided important habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds, and other migratory birds. It also provides vital winter habitat for big game species.
