Lava Wilderness Study Area

In Idaho, BLM manages nearly 24,000 acres of public lands in the Lava Wildernes Study Area. The WSA is located on a flat plain and is an older lava flow including pressure ridges and pahoehoe lava. Here you will see lichens of different colors on lava and wildlife like deer, coyotes and sage grouse. Hiking, camping and nature study can be enjoyed here.
